Our baby is turning one. Making our dream a reality was one of those things that just happened. It happened somewhere amidst years of flirting with daydreams around our kitchen table while relocating from one duty station to the next, and asking ourselves all the hard questions: Could we really create something out of this world spectacular? Are we really ready to take that jump? We gratefully collected cheerleaders and supporters such as Armed Forces Insurance and Hiring our Heroes along the way, until finally our dream was born: She Swank Too.
Halfway through this year we knew we had to build something that was more than just a place for people to shop. We knew we could create something so much more valuable: a community. A place where other entrepreneurs would have the freedom to pursue their business in a professional environment and strive to perfect their craft. A place where customers are made to feel like they are at home and are served with the utmost respect.
We dreamed many dreams about creating an environment of sharing, collaborating and simply having a lot of fun. So we built it.
The new She Swank Marketplace has taken on a life of it’s own, and that is the real dream. We created the only community-building marketplace that celebrates and supports independent, locally-owned, military spouse and veteran brands only in Jacksonville, NC.
We built a mastermind group for other entrepreneurs. We built relationships with our neighbors, other small local business owners, and community leaders.
We built excitement with our customers although we know very well the energy of our supportive customers built us. Happily, a year in we can now say we have built momentum.
Today marks a great accomplishment, especially in this day and age when it is so tough to succeed with a small business in a transient town like Jacksonville where it feels like the odds are always stacked against you. But our integrity and strong work ethic will always shine thru.
We are very proud of the incredible year behind us. We are especially proud to have expanded into a collective made of strong, talented and skilled entrepreneurs with a shared vision of building community first. But above all we are grateful.
Thank you to our beloved customers who are very much like family to us. We recognize that having a place in your lives is a privilege. Thank you for coming on this journey with us!
Join us on “Shop Small Saturday” November 25th from 11-7 to help us celebrate our year anniversary. We will have drinks snacks and little goodies to give away. RSVP on Facebook here. We can't wait to see you soon!
